About
I’m Crystal Thomas, a movement therapist, counsellor, and creative practitioner living and working on Larrakia Country in Darwin.
I’ve been a dancer and mover all my life, and this embodied way of experiencing the world has shaped who I am both personally and professionally.
My practice supports people of all ages - children, adults, and older people - through Movement Therapy that weaves together creative expression, talk therapy, body-based awareness, and trauma-informed care. My approach integrates somatic, creative, and psychological practices to meet people wherever they are, with compassion and curiosity.
Before retraining as a therapist, I was the founding director of NORTH, a not-for-profit social enterprise that collaborated with remote Aboriginal textile artists to share their work with the wider Australian design community. My background in interior and spatial design, cross-cultural collaboration, and mentoring continues to influence how I hold space: with care, creativity, and deep respect for each person’s story.
At the heart of my work is a belief that creative expression offers us a way to access what words alone often can’t. It invites us to be curious, playful, and honest with ourselves and with each other.
